Good writing changes everything. It gets you noticed, attracts more clients, grows your business, and makes you look like an absolute pro at what you do.
Basically, if you can write well, you’ve got a superpower.
But there’s just one little problem…
Most Writing Sucks
Let’s be real—most writing is just plain awful.
It’s boring. Stiff. Way too long. The kind of thing that makes you zone out before you even finish the first paragraph.
And it’s not just you. This is everywhere. Every country, every industry, every language.
Why? A few reasons:
School taught us how to write formally, not in a way that actually connects with people.
Writing isn’t the same as talking.
Nobody ever showed us the simple tricks that make words come alive.
But honestly? The why doesn’t matter.
What matters is: how do we fix it?
How to Write Stuff People Actually Want to Read
Over the next few articles, I’m going to share my best tips for writing blogs, video scripts, social media posts—basically, anything that needs to grab attention and keep people hooked.
And don’t worry—we’re not doing any of that technical grammar nonsense. No intransitive verbs. No demonstrative pronouns.
We’re just here to write words that work.
Step 1: Make People Want to Read
The first hurdle? Getting people to actually read what you wrote.
You could have the best message in the world, but if your audience clicks away before they even start, it’s useless.
Think about a newspaper. Tiny text. Huge, chunky paragraphs. Walls of words. Your brain looks at it and goes: “Nope. Not today.”
Now look at this article. Feels way easier to read, right?
That’s on purpose.
Short paragraphs (so your brain doesn’t panic).
Simple, clear sentences (so it doesn’t feel like work).
No fluff, no filler, no complicated jargon.
It’s effortless to read. And that’s the whole point.
But Wait—Should You Keep Everything Super Short?
Does that mean you should dumb everything down? Chop up your writing like baby food? Talk like you’re explaining something to a toddler who just drank an energy drink?
Nope.
But you do need to hook people and keep them engaged—whether it’s a blog, video, or social post.
And that’s just the beginning. There’s a lot more to cover.
